As often as we can, we love to make a trip to the mum farm. Just a morning’s drive from Grandma’s, our mum supplier is a local, family-owned business, nestled in the heart of Ohio. And a visit with them is a little bit of magic!

The growing fields are truly breathtaking. Wandering around the rolling hills of mums, trying to capture the beauty of this place is a treat – especially in morning. And you never know what manner of wildlife you might find. On this trip it was a flock of Guineafowl, kept as pets.

There was one trip, on our way out, when we were asked if we wanted to see the water source for the mums. Of course! After a short hike through the woods, we came to a natural spring-fed stream, which they pump into their irrigation system – and straight into the mums. This may be the secret ingredient to the humungous plants we receive each year!
