Every year in mid-September our sleepy country garden center comes alive as the Scarecrows arrive to usher in Fall.

Join the Great Scarecrow Festival at Grandma’s Gardens as we usher in the arrival of all things Fall! Enjoy a coffee and meander through the gardens. Snack on festive treats like kettle corn and some gourmet comfort food. Shop vendors, fresh pumpkins and Fall decor. Take a train ride to the Pumpkin Patch and pick a bouquet from the cutting garden!

THE CONTEST:

The centerpiece of the event is The Great Scarecrow Contest — which groups are free to enter ahead of time to compete for prizes up to $600! Scarecrow frames are available now at the garden center, but spaces are limited – so sign up today! See our CONTEST RULES for updated rules, more information or to signup!

DAY OF EVENT:

Saturday, September 12th, 2026
9:00am-10:00am – Scarecrow final touches
10:00am-1:00pm – People’s Choice Award voting
10:00am-1:00pm – Train rides to the Pumpkin Patch
10:00am-3:00pm – Vendors on site
12:00pm – Judging Begins
1:00pm – People’s Choice Award votes counted
2:00pm – Winners announced
Scarecrows are left on display through October 12th!
